About

About Eian.

Came up in commercial construction from the tools. Austin and Central Texas.

I started in commercial drywall at 16 and worked up: apprentice, journeyman, leadman, foreman. Seven years in commercial interiors around Austin, including self-perform work for a top-25 national general contractor and crews of up to 40 tradesmen on a 49-story high-rise.

In between I served as a 19D cavalry scout in the Army, then came back to the trade. I spent two years teaching for the Texas Carpenters and Millwrights training trust, Local 1266, where I co-authored a Texas Workforce Commission grant that was awarded and funded a full tool-out for 17 apprentices plus a 17-week accelerated train-up.

Ten years on the other side of the PM’s phone call taught me what a real manpower number looks like, and what it looks like when someone is telling you a story.
